The format for this season is the upcoming post-rotation standard! That means no set 1 or set 2 cards, no champions from sets 1 or 2, and no gems from sets 1 or 2. When set 6 comes online, cards will immediately be usable in our guild league!
When does the league start?
League play starts February 5th, East Coast USA time at 12am, and will continue for 10 weeks (ends just before Easter).
How do I play?
League matches will operate just as they did before. Veteran Team Clockwork members will be familiar with the workings of the league, and are encouraged to help out newer members in the first week or 2 especially. Matches are best of 3, with all normal rules for deck construction, except mentioned above in format. After completion of a match the WINNER reports the results using the link at the top of our guild page found at http://teamclockwork.enjin.com/guildleague . Your first 3 matches of each week will count towards your main points, and all further matches will be applied to your tiebreakers. You get 3 points for a win, 1 point for a loss. The link above will also maintain a running total for the league (updated periodically). So find guildmates in game, or in Discord chat, and lets get playing!
Can you clarify Scoring?
You are scored for REGULAR points on your first three matches of the week. WIN - 3 Points LOSS - 1 Point
Any matches played after your first three for the week are TIEBREAKER matches. Tiebreaker Matches are scored the same with tiebreaker points: WIN - 3 TB Points LOSS - 1 TB Point
If you haven't played your 3 matches and you play against somebody playing a tiebreaker match, you will be scored as a regular match, and your opponent will be scored for Tiebreakers.
Example: Bryn plays a tiebreaker match vs Silmegil who is playing his first match of the week. Silmegil wins. Bryn would get 1 TB Point for a Loss, and Silmegil would get 3 REGULAR points for his first win of the week.
Example 2: Bryn plays a tiebreaker match vs Silmegil who is playing his second match of the week. Silmegil loses. Bryn would get 3 TB Points for a Win, and Silmegil would get 1 REGULAR point for his 2nd match of the week. (A loss)
I don't have many cards, what can I do?
There are two solutions to this. The first is to borrow cards from others. As this is a friendly event, we always try to help others out. Secondly, and this also applies to trying out set 6 cards before they enter the client... if anyone would like to use LackeyCCG to test, the shareware can be found at http://www.lackeyccg.com/index.html . While a plugin used to exist for Hex, Cryptozoic has made sure it was taken down. It is possible people in the community have fairly up to date versions in their personal files of a decent Hex plugin. If both players agree before playing, matches for league can be played over LackeyCCG and reported normally. Again, this is for fun and excitement of playing new cards, so keep everything cool.
Are there prizes?
Yep! I have been collecting donations for prizes, and will continue doing so throughout the league. Everyone who participates gets prizes, and usually everyone is very happy with what they get regardless of how well they finished. All prizes will be divided into pools, and those pools will be drafted at the completion of the league. If you wish to donate more prizes for the league, you can send them to VBPlayer, and he will keep track of what is donated for prizes.
If you have any questions, please ask in guild chat on discord, and one of us will be happy to answer for you. If there are any bugs in your matches, we encourage you to replay or assume what the ending would have been if it was fairly clear. If there is ever a disagreement on something, just have fun and replay, or don't even count the match. Nothing is important enough for us to argue with each other, and it hasn't happened in the past. Each week you can play 3 matches again for your main points, and any additional number for tiebreakers. Enjoy!
